1. About BEL-C and Scope of These Terms

Beacons’ Early Learning Collective (BEL-C) is an educational collective comprising a network of programs and affiliates, including but not limited to BEL-Haven, BEYOND Learning Hub, The Learning Hub, HomeRoots, and BEY Talent. These Terms of Use (“Terms”) apply to all BEL-C websites, subdomains, digital platforms, and associated online services operated by BEL-C or its affiliates, regardless of time, location, or jurisdiction of operation.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using any BEL-C website, online platform, registration form, or communication channel (“the Sites”), you agree to comply with these Terms of Use and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Sites immediately.

3. Permitted Use

The Sites are provided for lawful, educational, and community purposes. You agree to:

Use the Sites in good faith and only for legitimate, non-commercial purposes related to BEL-C services;

All content, text, designs, photographs, videos, graphics, lesson plans, and brand assets appearing on BEL-C Sites are protected under copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. This includes, but is not limited to, BEL-Haven, BEYOND Learning Hub, The Learning Hub, HomeRoots, BEY Talent, and all related sub-brands, characters, and logos.

You may not copy, modify, reproduce, republish, transmit, or distribute any part of the Sites or their contents without express written authorization from BEL-C. Authorized materials must retain any copyright or trademark notices.

6. User-Generated Content

By submitting testimonials, comments, photographs, media, or feedback through any BEL-C platform, you grant BEL-C a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, and worldwide license to use, reproduce, and display such content in connection with our educational, community, or promotional activities. You warrant that you have the right to grant this license and that your submission does not violate the rights of others.

By providing your contact information through our Sites, you consent to receiving administrative and informational messages from BEL-C. You may unsubscribe from marketing or non-essential communications at any time using the link or instructions provided in those messages.

Program information presented on the Sites is for general informational purposes only. Enrollment, tuition, and participation are governed by program-specific agreements, policies, and consents provided during registration. Online descriptions do not constitute contractual offers or guarantees.

All Sites, content, and materials are provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. BEL-C makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the accuracy, reliability, or availability of the Sites. Use is at your own risk.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, BEL-C and its affiliates, officers, employees, and partners shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from or related to the use of, or inability to use, any BEL-C website, resource, or service.

14. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless BEL-C, its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from and against all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, or expenses arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Sites.

15. Jurisdiction and Governing Principles

These Terms apply universally to BEL-C and its affiliates, regardless of where programs operate or users access the Sites. In all cases, these Terms shall be interpreted in accordance with generally accepted principles of fairness, integrity, and lawful operation under applicable Canadian law.

16. Dispute Resolution

In the event of any dispute related to these Terms or the use of the Sites, parties agree first to attempt good-faith resolution through dialogue or mediation. If unresolved, the matter may be submitted to binding arbitration within the jurisdiction most closely connected to the BEL-C program concerned. The decision of the arbitrator will be final and binding.

17. Termination and Suspension

BEL-C reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate user access to any BEL-C Site at its discretion, without notice, where such action is necessary to protect the organization, its users, or the integrity of its digital systems. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will continue in effect.

18. Updates to These Terms

BEL-C may update or amend these Terms periodically to reflect evolving operations, legal obligations, or best practices. Updated Terms will be posted on this page. Continued use of the Sites constitutes acceptance of the revised version.
