Why BEL-Haven?

At BEL-Haven, we believe early years are sacred. Our design follows Ontario’s HDLH and ELECT frameworks — combining child-led exploration, play-based inquiry, and relationships that matter.

Child-Led, Adult-Supported Learning

Children choose, explore, reflect. Educators observe, scaffold, and guide. This “plan-do-review” loop ensures that learning is responsive, relevant, and rooted in wonder.

Holistic Growth

We nurture not just cognition, but social-emotional development, motor skills, language, and creative expression — caring for the whole child in every moment.

Environment as Third Teacher

Our spaces are intentionally curated to provoke curiosity — with natural materials, loose parts, and dynamic learning zones that reflect children's voices and evolving interests.

Belonging, Equity, and Care

Every child is seen, valued, and empowered. We foster a culture of belonging where identity, empathy, wellness, and community are at the core of our daily practice.

Meaningful Documentation

Educators document children’s thinking and progress — making learning visible and ensuring families stay connected to their child’s journey and voice.

Real-World Connections

From gardens to grocery lists, our learning links directly to real life. We spark curiosity about the world — through nature walks, cultural celebrations, and early STEM provocations.

Program Structure & Age Groups

BEL-Haven is licensed and structured to support children across developmental transitions — from toddlers to preschoolers — with groupings that reflect their growth and readiness.
