Community and tools — supporting your work, your way.
Welcome to HomeRoots,
our support program for home childcare providers, homeschool families,
and independent educators working in small, flexible learning environments.
We support home-based learning and care by bringing together shared resources, planning assistance, and access to community.
Designed to be flexible and responsive, HomeRoots works alongside existing
programs and homeschool approaches, adding value without changing how learning or care is delivered.

About HomeRoots
HomeRoots was developed by Beacons’ Early Learning Collective to support the
realities of home-based learning and care. Many providers and homeschool families
work independently, manage mixed ages, and adapt plans week by week — often without
access to shared resources or professional support.
HomeRoots brings structure where it helps, flexibility where it’s needed, and
access to tools and community that can be used over time. Participation is not
fixed, and support is not one-size-fits-all.
HomeRoots doesn’t replace your homeschool or care approach — it supports it.
Members choose what’s helpful, move at their own pace, and adjust as their children and circumstances grow.
How You Engage with HomeRoots
HomeRoots is designed to be flexible, responsive, and fit-for-purpose.
There is no single pathway and no required level of participation.
Members engage in different ways over time, depending on their needs.
All members begin with core access. Additional supports are layered on as
needed and do not replace or limit what is already available.
Core Access
All members have ongoing access to HomeRoots tools and supports, including
planning templates, learning guides, and the HomeRoots Learning Library for
learning materials and furnishings. These supports are designed for flexible,
self-directed use and can be integrated into day-to-day planning, routines,
and learning environments over time as needed.
Shared Engagements
In addition to core access support, HomeRoots organizes optional group
experiences members can join when timing and interest align. Shared Engagements
include scheduled community conversations, play-based group experiences,
collaborative learning moments, and occasional enrichment sessions coordinated
by HomeRoots.
Targeted Support
When a specific question, transition, or challenge needs focused attention,
targeted support can be activated. It is initiated by the member or through
conversation with HomeRoots, layered on top of core access, time-bound by
design, and concludes once the purpose has been met.
Members may move between these forms of engagement or use more than one at the
same time. There is no need to choose a pathway or commit to a level of
participation in advance.
What Your HomeRoots Membership Brings You
HomeRoots membership provides access to tools, shared resources, and support
structures that are difficult to build alone. It is designed to reduce
duplication, lighten planning and administrative load, and make home-based
learning and care more sustainable over time.
Membership does not prescribe how you run your program or homeschool.
It gives you access — you decide how and when to use it.
What Your HomeRoots Membership Gives You
HomeRoots membership provides access to tools, resources, and support that
